OCtober Day 28: Dr. Fred(die) Blanco

Of all the promising vault hunters I’d come across in my galactic travels, she certainly surprised me the most. It was in Fyrestone, a town in the Arid Badlands on the planet of Pandora. That’s where I met the young lady. At the time I’d been working as an apprentice to Dr. Zed Blanco, the legendary doctor to psychos, vault hunters  and crimson raiders alike. His lack of a medical license may be off-putting, as well as his little genetic experiments. But, all in all he’s a good, caring man. You could see that especially by the way he treats his niece.  Dr. Zed himself had moved back to his original home to pick up the pieces from the aftermath of the vault fiasco. For a short while it was just the two of us. The day by day usually consisted of patching up passers through, restocking the vending machines and collecting creature parts for god knows what. I told myself to ignore the unholy screeching from the doctor’s personal laboratory. Still, it had been a fairly cozy gig. Cla...

OCtober Day 19: Bailey

You get used to levels of extreme violence on Pandora pretty quickly. I’d bounced between a couple other planets before coming here, and despite everything I’d seen, nothing else quite came close. Something about this place had a unique charm to it. Well, once you looked past the piles of skag guts and the bandit camps. I’d become aware of the existence of vault hunters through the stories told by locals. Legendary warriors who hunt locked away monsters, seeking the vast treasures they guard. As of yet I’d yet to meet any of the actual accomplished hunters. However, I had been lucky to come across some individuals who had the makings to fill those shoes one day. Bailey had been the second of this promising lot. After spending some time on Promethea with  the other hopeful, an element defying woman known as Piper, I set back off on my journey. I’d wandered the badlands for some time, growing accustomed to the necessary means of survival. On one solo expedition I decided to check the...

OCtober Day 9: Piper

Whilst drifting through the galaxies, at one point I came upon a planetary system that was brand new to me. Jackpot, I thought. Not just one, but multiple planets with a slew of brand new civilisations to explore. Whilst circling the first closest one, I managed to hack my tech systems into something called the ‘echonet’. A shared system used around here, it seems. From that, I managed to crack the names of the planet below as being Promethea. The surface seemed mostly covered in technology advanced megacities, under control of a couple different weapons manufacturers known as Maliwan and Atlas. Whilst browsing through the map for a place to start however, my finger slipped, swiping to halfway across the world. Where it stopped, something piqued my interest. In the wild lands, near to one city, stood a small town. A hidden jewel free from the rapid urbanisation. I set the coordinates, landing my ship close to the town’s edge. The first thing that hit me was the smell. My nose wrinkle...
